Flight and
Emigration in Medieval Space and Mind
Gryka e Valbones? (Albania), August 20-23, 2011
?
1???????the
various motives and contexts, in which forced or voluntary flight and
emigration took place, were discussed or otherwise represented in the sources;
2???????the
question, if and to what extent one followed similar patterns of ideas,
discourses? and realization..
One fled and
emigrated from a wide range of circumstances:
1???????from
?the world,?
2???????lands
and territories,
3???????different
communities (urban and rural space, monasteries, homes),
4???????religious,
professional, economic, social and gendered affiliations,
5???????one?s spouses, and so on.
Historical and
literary sources, as well as images and archaeological evidence offer manifold
information about these varieties of flight and emigration, and will allow
transdisciplinary and comparative approaches.
